There are regular trains from Mumbai-Goa and back with both,
Thivim & Karmali being the rail stations in North Goa. The
Journey time from Mumbai to Goa is approximately 10 hrs. There
is a Super fast train that takes only 7 hrs to reach Goa from
Mumbai.
If you are booked in a north Goa Hotel then get off at Thivim or
Karmali.
If you have booked a South Goa hotel then alight at Madgaon
railway station. Major cities connect Goa by rail and one can
get off either at Madgaon or at Thivim depending on the train
route.

Travel to Goa by Air
Travel time to Goa by flight is only 45 minutes. There are many
flights operating Mumbai-Goa-Mumbai and from other major cities.
The airport is approximately 42 kms from Calangute beach, north
Goa and 30 kms from Colva beach South Goa.
Travel to Goa by Coach
There is another comfortable and reasonable option for travel to
Goa. One can travel to Goa by AC/non AC Sleeper and seating
Volvo and regular luxury coaches operated by numerous private
coach operators. Their services terminating at Panjim, Mapusa &
Madgaon on the Mumbai-Goa-Mumbai sector. Goa, Maharashtra, and
Karnataka state transport corporations operate from the Kadamba
bus stand at Panaji. Travel to Goa from other cities is also
easy. There are private bus operators operating sleeper/seating,
Ac/Non Ac coaches from various cities to/From Goa.
Travel to Goa by Car

from Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune , Nasik and other cities. From
Mumbai travel to Goa takes 10-12 hrs and distance is 582 Kms.

Old Goa Attractions :
10 Kms from east of Panaji lies the city of Old Goa, founded by
Adil Shah in the first decade of the 16th century and colonized
by the Portuguese as "Rome of the East". Located along the left
bank of the Mandovi River estuary, Old Goa is now largely an
outpost of the past. The principal surviving structures include
Se Cathedral, founded by Afonso de Albuquerque in 1511, rebuilt
in 1623, and is still used for public worship; the convent of
St. Francis (1517), originally a mosque, and in 1661 rebuilt and
converted by the Portuguese; the Chapel of St. Catherine (1551);
and the Basilica of Bom Jesu (1594-1603), in which lies the
mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier, the 16th-century Jesuit
missionary.
South Goa Attractions :
Shri Mangueshi Located at Priol, Ponda Taluka, surrounded by
rolling green hills, Shri Mangueshi is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Shri Ramnath: Besides the shrine of the main Ramnath deity it
has four small temples of Shri Laxminarayan, Shri Shantadurga,
Shri Betal and Shri Sidhanath. The five together, constitute
Shri Ramnath Panchayalan. Shri Shantadurga: Dedicated to Shanta
Durga, Goddess of Peace. The deity was transferred from Kelsi.
Dudhsagar Falls:60 Kms from ...... Panaji..... is the popular
haunt for trekkers and hikers. Dudhsagar Falls, literally the
'sea of milk', due to its very appearance , is a veritable sight
to behold. A temendously tall column of water pours down from a
thundering height to a site hundreds of feet below to create a
most enchanting phenomenon of nature... rainbow. Moyem Lake: 35
Kms from Panaji is one of the state's most popular picnic spots
Excellent accommodation and boating facilities available at the
Lake.
Chorao : The Wildlife Sanctuary in the Chorao Island/s offers
safe habitat and nesting opportnities for a variety of waterbird
species.
